howlo and greetings to you fellow faithful readers of irvin's blog!

my sis just got some STRANGE sms from a STRANGE guy and now she's feeling STRANGE. hmm i'm beginning to feel that blogging about this is STANGE too haha. i hope i never ever send that kind of a corny message, please!

you know some people say everyone can be classified into 3 objects - carrots, eggs and tea bags. they're all the same (food) at first, but put them in hot boiling water for 10 minutes and they'll come out very different. the carrots come out of the 10 minutes of intense heat all soft. they crumble in your hands. it seems as if the carrots have no strength left in them. the eggs, on the other hand, come out way harder than before (hard boiled eggs). they're strong and they're tough. it seems like neither the carrot nor the tea bag can rival them in this aspect. the tea bags, however, come out of the 10 minutes of immersion in hot water exactly the same as before in appearance. they have not become softer or harder. however, something in them have changed the water in which they were soaked. the tea bags had made the water sweeter and more aromatic!

are you like the carrot? when trials come your way do you turn soft and crumble, giving in to the pressures around you? or are you like the egg? do you come out of a testing harder than before? do you create a shell around you, hardening your heart so that no other thing or person can harm you ever again? OR are you like the tea bag? do you come out of a crisis the same, having held firm to your principles? do you make the people around you better while standing fast in what you believe in?

anyway it just passed my mind when i was bathing, what would i do if God miraculously saved me from certain death? would i be happy for myself? would i praise the Lord regardless of where i was? would i pretend as if nothing had happened or that God SHOULD have saved me?

haha after some thought i decided if God saved me from certain death i would immediately fall on my knees, look to Heaven and thank Him. and.. well i just think i don't really know how to say it in any other way, but i think i'll sing 'How Great Thou Art' (my favourite hymn) the bestest i can!
