he said,
"wee woo!"
bright lights city gonna set my soul, they're gonna set my soul on fire
got a whole lot of money that's ready to burn so get those stakes up higher!haha really brings back memories of the bright lights of las vegas that i still dream of (literally) once in a while (; really nice place to be in, the atmosphere and all. would've been EVEN nicer if all the sex was taken away. haha
anyway, let me tell you this really good story uncle winston told us on sunday. okay bear with me as i attempt to write
once upon a time, there was a stone cutter. he wasn't wealthy or influential, though he longed to be that. one day, the stone cutter went to town and saw a rich businessman splashing his money all over the place, buying anything and everything he wanted. the stone cutter looked at the businessman and envy surged through him.
'how i wish i could be that businessman', he thought.
in a flash, he was that businessman! he could now purchase whatever he desired. there was nothing he wanted but could not have. but as he turned around a passing governor caught his eye. the governor was enjoying the luxury of being carried by slaves, in a sedan chair. the stone cutter now thought to himself,
'how i wish i could have the luxury of being carried around by slaves. how i wish i was that governor!'
in a flash, he became the governor. he was sitting in the sedan chair, taking in the sights as they travelled through town. as morning turned into noon, the heat of the scorching sun grew steadily, until the stone cutter was drenched in perspiration. looking up at the burning sun, he said
'such heat, such power! how i wish i could be the sun!' and in a flash, he became the sun! his light filled the ends of the universe, lighting up the whole earth, from the highest mountain peaks to the deepest valleys and rivers. there was nothing that could escape the brightness of his light and warmth of his rays, until a large cloud drifted into the path of his rays.
'what?! something stronger than the sun? i wish i could be the cloud!'
in moments, he now turned into a huge cloud. delighting in the fact that he had the ability to deprive people of sunlight and the ability to let a big storm loose at will, he roamed the skies thinking his was almighty. however to his surprise a huge wind came suddenly and blew him out of position.
'something more powerful than a cloud?! i wish i was that wind!'
he transformed once more, this time into that wind. unleashing the brute force of nature, he stirred up hurricanes and tornados which wreaked havoc all over. as he blew everything out of its way (trees, houses, people), it seemed indomitable until it met with this large, enormous boulder. the boulder stood firm no matter how hard the wind blew. it just would not budge. finally giving up, he said
'something stronger than this wind? i wish i could be that boulder!'
so as the boulder, he sat happily in his spot, immune to all forms of forces of nature that went against him. rain, sun, wind, nothing could hurt this giant slab of stone. until one fine sunny morning, when he awoke to find a sharp, piercing pain. as he looked down, to his horror, at his feet (well, bottom.) stood a stone cutter, chipping away at his side. furious that there was something greater, more powerful than he, he bellowed
'something stronger than this majestic boulder?! how i wish i was a stone cutter!'
and in a flash, he was the stone cutter.
haha WELL. moral of the story? covetousness gets you no where at all! in fact, okay yeah it gets you somewhere, just one big round. what is covetousness? it's
'To feel immoderate desire for that which is another's', so says dictionary.com. an over obsessive want for the latest handphones, clothes, or even PEOPLE (or relationships), they're all examples of how covetousness is manifested in us these days. there really is a stone cutter in each and everyone of us. it's just how you control him that matters (;
well anw. really sleepy alr. byebye everybody thanks for reading the whole thing if you did (; haha
