i have a theory on how learning mentality develops.
everybody studies for a reason - some study cos their parents make them, some study cos they think its the 'right thing to do', some study to prove others wrong, some to secure a stable job in the future, some to attain the 'social status' of being smart. what do YOU study for? (;
i believe that most of the time, the reason for learning (aka study) develops like this.
1. out of compulsion - cos you are being made to, not cos you like it or want to. (eg. parents forcing you, test coming up)
2. to impress - so as to show off or gain others' respect or notice. (eg. when a member of the opposite gender is around, when a teacher is watching you)
3. to outdo your peers - the desire to beat others, to be better than your peers. focus not so much on what you learn but whether you can beat the person next to you.(eg. intense competition to see who get higher marks for a test)
4. for others - focus is on helping others rather than yourself. understands that true joy lies in helping others, above helping yourself (eg. finding joy in tutoring fellow friends, helping others who may be less well-off than you in whichever area)
yup so that's my 'thesis' muahaha.
'If you ever change your mind girl
